In creating and accessing an account on the My ServiceOttawa Portal on Ottawa.ca (the "Portal"), you warrant that you have read and expressly agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service.
User Information
You warrant that you are the My ServiceOttawa customer identified in the My ServiceOttawa account registration process and that all information provided is accurate and current to the best of your knowledge. The City of Ottawa reserves the right to suspend or terminate your My ServiceOttawa account should you provide false information, or otherwise fail to comply with these Terms of Service.
No Warranty on Information
While every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy and veracity of the information on this Portal, the City of Ottawa is not responsible in any way for damages arising out of the use of this Portal. And, although the City of Ottawa relies on reputable sources and believes the information posted on the Portal by the City is correct, and attempts to keep the information current, the City of Ottawa does not warrant the accuracy or completeness of the information.
Security
The Internet may not be a secure medium and you use this Portal at your own risk. You agree to assume the risks associated with the transmission or loss of any data, including the interception of data or information by third parties. You are responsible for safeguarding the password that you use to access the Portal and for any activities or actions under your password.
Limitation of Liability
The City of Ottawa is not responsible in any manner for direct, indirect, special or consequential damages, however caused, arising out of your use of this Portal. The City of Ottawa assumes no responsibility for any damages sustained as a result of viruses or other destructive items that infect your computer equipment or other property in connection with your access to or use of this Portal or your downloading of any data, text, images, files or other materials from the Portal.
Use and Retention of Personal Information
Use of personal information shall be limited to that which is necessary for the purposes identified by the Portal or as permitted or required by law.
Upon closure of your My ServiceOttawa account your personal information will be deleted.
Personal information related to inactive accounts will be maintained for a maximum of 15 months from the time your My ServiceOttawa account was last accessed at which point it will be deleted.
Jurisdiction and Updates to Terms of Service
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario. These Terms of Service are subject to change. Any changes to the Terms of Service shall come into effect upon the City of Ottawa posting the updated version on the Portal.
